The Wynyard Show includes equestrian, livestock and poultry events.

Come and enjoy a family fun day at the 134th Wynyard Show, the district’s authentic country Show.  Marvel at the magnificent livestock, horses, poultry and cage birds on display.  See popular Woodchopping events and watch carriage driving on the main oval.  Youngsters will enjoy Side Show Alley attractions, live music and food to taste.  Our Industrial Hall displays local produce and crafts, entered by young and old alike.

About

The Wynyard Showgrounds are located on Jackson Street, centrally located in the township of Wynyard and backing onto the peaceful and scenic Gutteridge Gardens and Inglis River. The Showgrounds are within walking distance to the main street shopping area with a supermarket, chemist, newsagents, restaurants & cafes. You can also find on Jackson Street the award winning Wonders of Wynyard Exhibition and Information Centre including long-bay parking, gift shop and Veteran car collection.

Wynyard Showgrounds is an excellent base to explore the local area and attractions including the Table Cape Lighthouse and Tulip Farm (in bloom and open Sep-Oct), the Wynyard Foreshore Market (1st & 3rd Sunday of the month) and Alchymia Distillery. Wynyard is approximately a 20 minute drive from Burnie and 40 minutes to Stanley.

Before you arrive

Please note that the showgrounds are for self contained RVs and caravans, sites are unpowered with no available water or toilets onsite. We ask that when you leave you take all waste and rubbish with you. There is a free Waste Dump point and potable water available on Goldie Street adjacent to the Wynyard Waste Transfer Station. Please take a moment to read the CMCA’s Code of Conduct.

The Showgrounds have a 3 night maximum stay limit.

Pets are permitted but must be kept on leash. There is a public dog exercise area adjacent to the showgrounds.

Booking and Refund Policy

No refund will be available for change of mind or non-arrival. Bookings are only valid for the reserved date noted on the booking receipt. Please contact 0477 365 016 within 48hrs of booking if an error has been made on booking dates. Bookings must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

Wynyard Agricultural & Pastoral Society have the right to reallocate the booked site type/location based on ground suitability. In the event of no alternative site available a refund of the site fee ($10/night) will be issued. The Wynyard Agricultural & Pastoral Society will not refund any additional fees associated with booking or bank transaction fees.

REGULATIONS

    1. No one, whether in charge of exhibits or otherwise, will be admitted without a ticket.  One ticket voucher will be emailed to an exhibitor with three animals, two vouchers with seven or more animals. For horses see Horse Schedule.
    2. All exhibits must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor.
    3. The age of horses shall be from 1st August and for Cattle, from 1st July.
    4. Exhibitors must give the correct date of birth of each animal entered where required.
    5. All calves attached to cows shall not exceed the age of nine months.  The date of birth shall be shown on the Entry.
    6. All entries must be made via the Society website on or before the closing date stated on the Schedule.
    7. Professionals cannot enter Section J with other Sections open to all.
    8. All vendor equipment, vehicles,  machinery must be placed in the Showground before 8.30am on the day of the show.
    9. Admission to Industrial Hall for collection of Industrial Exhibits only after 4.00pm.
    10. Judges shall proceed to the Secretary’s Office when the Showgrounds.  Accompanied by the Stewards for the particular Section or Class etc, they shall proceed to examine and decide upon the merits of the exhibits. Their inspection finished, Judges shall sign and give their reports to the Secretary.  Judges awards shall be final, unless a valid objection be raised against the prize takers in their respective classes.
    11. In the event of the Judge considering that any of the Exhibitors have not complied with the conditions of the Show, the Exhibitor may be disqualified. Judges are empowered to withhold the prize in any Class where the exhibit is deemed unworthy.
    12. All protests must be lodged in writing with the Secretary on Show Day within one half hour of the event or prior to 5.00pm.  Protests must be accompanied by a $50.00 deposit.
    13. Protests, disputes or other matters arising at the Show shall be dealt with by the Protest Committee. Should the protest be deemed frivolous, the deposit shall be forfeited.
    14. All horses must be ready to commence jumping at 8.30am and entrants must be ready to parade at 2.15 pm.
    15. The Grand Parade shall commence at 2.15pm. Exhibitors shall parade in such order as shall be directed by the officials in charge. No person will be allowed to remove an exhibit from the Showground before 3.00pm on Saturday without the consent of the Secretary & the appropriate Chief Steward. If exhibits are otherwise removed, then any prize money awarded may be forfeited to the Society.
    16. The Society reserves the right to substitute trophies or vouchers in lieu of cash prizes listed in the Schedules, provided that such trophy or voucher be of equal value to the prize offered. As far as is possible, trophies and vouchers shall be shown in the Schedules.
    17. All animals are to comply with Breed Registration conditions and Breed Association rules. All certificates issued are to accompany animals to the Show and must be produced on demand. All livestock must be NLIS identified in accordance with DPI regulations. Failure to comply will result in the livestock being disqualified forthwith.
    18. Where livestock is entered in the name of a school or a student at that school, the entry must show the name of the owner of the animal. This regulation is not applicable to Handlers Classes.
    19. JOHNNE’S DISEASE. The Society and its Insurers accept no liability whatsoever for any livestock which might be a source of infection or contagion to other livestock entries.
    20. Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE).  The Society and its Insurers accept no liability whatsoever for any livestock which might be a source of infection or contagion to other livestock entries.
    21. EQUINE INFLUENZA. The Society and its Insurers accept no liability whatsoever for any horse or horses which may be a source of infection or contagion to any other animal nor for any illness which may occur to any horse or horses attending the Wynyard Show. Each and all riders/competitors/owners indemnify the Society, its agents and its Insurers against any liability in relation to any horse which becomes infected with Equine Influenza virus whilst within the confines of the Wynyard Showground, whether competing or not.
    22. The Committee reserves the right to restrict the number of entries per exhibitor should the demand for space warrant restriction. Any such restrictions shall be advised on close of entries.
    23. In the event of any exhibit causing any damage or injury whatsoever, the owner/exhibitor or the person having control thereof, shall indemnify the Society and its Insurers against damages, injuries, costs, expense or liabilities incurred in connection with the same.
    24. These Regulations, together with the conditions printed in the appropriate schedule and the certificates submitted by the owner/exhibitor with the completed entry, are the basis of an exhibitor’s entry into competition at the Wynyard Show.  The exhibitor’s entry and associated documentation  are an agreement between the exhibitor and the Society as to the terms of entry and competition at the Wynyard Show.
    25. All electrical cords and appliances must have a current tag.
